David A. Grantham, Ph.D. is an SFS Senior Fellow. He currently serves as the Director of Intelligence for the Tarrant County (TX) Sheriff’s Office. Dr. Grantham is a leading expert in national security matters and international affairs. Dr. Grantham’s expertise engages the nation’s most pressing issues, like terrorism, international security and military affairs.
Dr. Grantham is the author of an upcoming book about his time at Camp Bucca, Iraq – the birthplace of ISIS – scheduled for release in the Spring of 2019. Prior to his work with TCSO, Dr. Grantham served as Senior Fellow of National Security at the National Center for Policy Analysis (NCPA) and, before that, as an officer in the United States Air Force and Special Agent with the Air Force Office of Special Investigations (AFOSI) where he conducted and managed counterintelligence and counterterrorism investigations and operations, both stateside and abroad.
Dr. Grantham holds a PhD in Modern History from Texas Christian University where he taught courses on Latin America and Middle East history. He earned his Master of Science in International Relations from Troy University and Bachelor of Art in History from the University of South Florida in 2004.
