Argentina’s Fernandez government rebuked by primary voters

Co-hosting along with the legendary radio personality, John Batchelor, SFS Executive Director Joseph Humire discusses critical issues affecting the security, economics, and geopolitics of the Western Hemisphere, otherwise known as the New World every Monday evening. Colombian Senator Maria Fernanda Cabal, a long-time contributor to the show, has taken leave to campaign for the congressional elections in Colombia.

This week Joseph discussed the Argentine primary for the upcoming legislative election, which dealt a blow to President Alberto Fernandez and his ruling coalition in the National Congress. While not a victory yet, it’s a telling sign of the growing discontent among the population. Fernández’s popularity has plunged to 34%, down from a peak of 57% in April 2020, as inflation soars.
